Reflections on heritagization of food among Afghan refugees in Albania and their “hosts”
The article, published in Slovenian, examines how Afghan refugees in Shëngjin, Albania, preserve and adapt their cultural and especially culinary practices by establishing small restaurants that serve traditional Afghan dishes. These efforts contrast with the prevailing view of refugees merely as guests, highlighting their role as cultural contributors and hosts. The text critiques the static representation of cultural heritage by emphasizing its fluid and dynamic dimensions.
