Marko Senčar Mrdaković Successfully Defends His Doctoral Dissertation

On Thursday, 27 August 2026, Marko Senčar Mrdaković, a new member of the Heritage on the Margins research programme group, successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, entitled Conflicts in Social Innovation Processes in the Management of Koper’s Historic Urban Landscape, at the Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU.

The defence took place in the Gosposka Hall of the Geographical Museum at the Anton Melik Geographical Institute of ZRC SAZU. It was attended by his supervisor, Assistant Professor Jani Kozina, PhD; his co-supervisor, Associate Professor Valentina Gulin Zrnić, PhD; and the members of the commission: Assistant Professor David Bole, PhD; Assistant Professor Aidan Cerar, PhD; and Assistant Professor Neža Čebron Lipovec, PhD.
