Conference VANDA – Vienna Anthropology Days
VANDA – Vienna Anthropology Days is a yearly conference, organized by the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna. The conference happened between September 23 and September 25 and hosted thirty-four panels (four of them as Young Scholars’ Forum) and five open sessions. The presentations were very diverse and were coming from various fields of anthropology, such as anthropology of food, gender, loneliness, artificial intelligence, activism, health and medicine, migration studies, multimodal approaches, sensory anthropology, anthropology of violence, multispecies anthropology, climate change, decolonization of knowledge and research, political and economic anthropology and many others. Eva Fekonja, a member of the program group Heritage on the Margins, also presented a paper, titled Aesthetics of Authenticity: Insights from three Slovenian Singing Choirs.
