Ours, Yours, Theirs, No One’s? Heritage of Multicultural Areas
Between June 10 and 13, 2025, the Institute of Ethnomusicology organised an international conference entitled Ours, Yours, Theirs, No One’s? The Heritage of Multicultural Areas. The conference aimed to shed light on the role and understanding of heritage and heritagisation processes in border areas, where different cultures and languages have traditionally come into contact, and to answer the question answer the question of how processes related to heritage have been shaped by political and historical circumstances, in particular by political borders, and demographic changes, as well as different interpretations of the past and memories.
Marjeta Pisk helped organise the conference. Špela Ledinek Lozej and Nataša Rogelja Caf and Janine Schemmer presented a paper entitled On the Paths of Europe: Ethnographies of Performative Interventions between the Alps and the Adriatic.
