Photography exhibition by France Stele

To commemorate the 25^th anniversary of the continuous operation of the Slovenian Cultural Center Planika (Slovensko kulturno središče Planika/Centro culturale Stella Alpina) in the Canale Valley (Slov. Kanalska dolina) in Italy the photographic exhibition about the Ugovizza/Ukve alpine pastures was put on display in the old dairy in Ugovizza (Slov. Ukve). The photographs by France Stele, recorded on black and white film, show images of past life, when during the summer the inhabitants from the village of Ukve/Ugovizza moved with their dairy cattle to mountain huts and stables under the peaks of the eastern Carnian Alps. The exhibition, prepared by Špela Ledinek Lozej and Miha Peče was set up originally to commemorate the 90^th anniversary of birth of Tone Cevc (1932–2007) in the ZRC SAZU Atrium, thus returned “home”. Since the beginning of November, it will be on display in the ethnographic museum in the Venetian Palace in Naborjet/Malborgetto.
