SacredTravels4Growth study visit

The SacredTravels4Growth Study Visit, organised by the Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU and held from 27 June to 1 July 2026, explored pilgrimage and religious tourism from an anthropological perspective. Combining lectures, field visits, guided tours, workshops, and walking seminars in Ljubljana, Brezje, and Šmarna gora, the programme offered participants first-hand engagement with pilgrimage sites, heritage-making processes, and contemporary approaches to the study of sacred routes. The event was co-organised, and its lectures and workshops were delivered, by four members of the Heritage on the Margins research programme: Marjeta Pisk, Špela Ledinek Lozej, Martina Bofulin, and Nataša Rogelja Caf. The study visit formed part of the international SacredTravels4Growth project, which aims to foster innovative knowledge, sustainable practices, and new educational approaches in the field of pilgrimage and religious tourism.
