The 2023 conference of the Swiss Association for the Studies of Science, Technology & Society in Basel
From the 31st of August to the 1st of September 2023, the Swiss Association for the Studies of Science, Technology & Society (STS-CH) organized an international conference and invited empirical, methodological, and theoretical contributions from the field of STS fostering exchange between various disciplines. The conference addressed the questions of how diverse knowledge regimes shape social identity, political citizenship, and cultural heritage. How are knowledge claims fashioned, represented, and questioned? What kind of features and mechanisms influence their success or defeat? How do current societal transformations influence different knowledge claims and their residues of non-knowledge.
Program members Nataša Rogelja Caf and Špela Ledinek Lozej presented their work within the panel “Walking Methodologies: Embodied Research in Emergent Anthropocene Landscapes” organized by Nick Shepherd (Aarhus University and the University of Pretoria) and Christian Ernsten (Maastricht University).
