Research approaches and methods

The latest issue of Etnolog (2021) brings to the fore current research methods and challenges in ethnology and anthropology. While Dan Podjed, Rajko Muršič, and Mateja Habinc reflected on ethnography during the Covid 19 pandemic, Nataša Rogelja Caf and Špela Ledinek Lozej re-considered the connection between research and walking. In the article titled I walk, I write, I research: A reflection on walking and writing in ethnological and anthropological research we outlined the history of research walking and writing and discussed three interrelated themes based on our fieldwork: mobile practices of shepherds and herders, biography in space, and walking with a river. Reflections on research walking were additionally inspired, elaborated, and sharpened through walking seminars organized by members of the Heritage on the Margins program group.
