Photography exhibition by France Stele in Udine

On May 5 2023 at 11 a.m., the opening of France Stele’s photographic exhibition about the Ukve/Ugovizza Alpine pastures will take place in the Friuli Ethnographic Museum (Museo etnografico del Friuli) in Udine. The photographs, recorded on black and white film, show images of a past life when during the summer the inhabitants from the village of Ukve/Ugovizza moved with their cattle to mountain huts and stables under the peaks of the eastern Carnian Alps. The exhibition, which was co-authored by Špela Ledinek Lozej and was primarily organized on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of Tone Cevc (1932–2007) in the ZRC SAZU Atrium and was then presented also at the headquarters of the Slovenian Cultural Center Planika (Slovensko kulturno središče Planika/Centro culturale Stella Alpina) in Ukve/Ugovizza and in the ethnographic museum in the Venetian Palace in Naborjet/Malborgetto, will be on display until June 11, 2023.
