Route Biographies
International seminar
On 29 March 2023, an international seminar “Route biographies” was held in the framework of the project “Route biographies: walking and writing as methods for researching border regions” (ARRS, J6-4611). An introduction of the project by project leader Nataša Rogelja Caf was followed by a keynote lecture “Walking seminars – embodied research in emergent Anthropocene landscapes” by professor Nick Shepherd from Aarhus University, Denmark. Shepherd’s lecture was followed by eight presentations related either to the walking method in anthropology or to the study of rivers – in anthropological, geographical as well as artistic research practice. The papers were presented by Martina Bofulin (ISIM ZRC SAZU), Marjeta Pisk (GNI ZRC SAZU), Nataša Gregorič Bon, Liza Stančič and Urša Kanjir (IAPS ZRC SAZU), Maša Sakara Sučević (Regional Museum Koper) and Robertina Šebjanič (artist). The seminar was followed by a three-day international walking seminar in Istria (30 March – 1 April), along the rivers Dragonja and Rižana.
